We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Managing Director of Marketing Operations and Governance to support operational excellence, ensure compliance, optimize marketing technology, and manage key vendors and budgets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and cross-functional collaborator capable of implementing efficient processes, upholding governance, and supporting data-driven decision-making across marketing. This role is an exciting opportunity to build and lead foundational capabilities for scalable and effective marketing at a dynamic, client-focused regional bank. Marketing Governance & Operations
Instituting best-in-class operational processes to enable quick adaptation to changing business conditions. Creating, maintaining, optimizing, and automating processes to improve efficiency and establish risk-compliant review workflows for client-facing content. Managing development and implementation of tools, metrics, initiatives, infrastructure, and technology to support marketing operations. Serving as the primary liaison between Marketing, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory and brand standards are met. Maintaining marketing review workflows, documentation, and audit readiness. Supporting policies, procedures, and best practices that promote accountability, transparency, and risk mitigation. Developing a Marketing Governance Framework defining roles, responsibilities, and decision rights. Building processes and tools to ensure consistent use of disclosures, disclaimers, templates, and customer-facing language. Leading periodic reviews to ensure continued alignment with compliance and internal controls. Supporting risk assessments and remediation efforts related to audits and regulatory reviews. Facilitating training and onboarding for governance policies, processes, and systems. Administering marketing platforms like Workfront / Bynder, including user access, configuration, and training. Establishing marketing data governance requirements, improving data integrity, and collaborating with vendors and IT for database optimization. Vendor and Budget Management
Managing marketing vendor relationships, including onboarding, contracts, performance, and renewals. Collaborating with Marketing and Finance to track spend, manage purchase orders, and ensure budget alignment. Providing monthly budget and forecast updates to leadership. Marketing Technology & Project Management
Developing strategies to improve marketing performance through digital and process enhancements. Assessing needs, performing gap analysis, and designing roadmaps for new technologies and capabilities. Consulting on the use of marketing technologies to achieve business objectives. Collaborating with IT on integrating marketing systems and technologies. Managing projects, implementing, governing, and innovating marketing automation platforms and tech stacks. Leading vendor selection, procurement, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance of marketing technologies. Skills and Experience
10+ years of relevant marketing experience. 7+ years of management experience, including leading large cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field; MBA preferred. Experience in financial services. Extensive knowledge of marketing operations and governance. Hands-on experience with marketing operations, digital marketing, technology, and analytics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in process design and development. Strong project management skills and organizational abilities. Collaborative mindset and innovative approach. Ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Creative problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel to specified locations as needed. The estimated salary range is $154,000–$180,000 USD annually, with potential variations based on experience and location.
