Instructors are responsible for preparing and delivering quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment to promote student success, recognizing diverse backgrounds, and fostering growth for careers or further education. This role involves in-person, hybrid, and online teaching formats, with terms starting August 1, 2025, and may include travel to regional centers.
Essential Functions

- Instruction: Prepare lesson plans, deliver courses via multiple modes, differentiate instruction, support student learning, utilize various assessments, collaborate with colleagues, and support student retention and success.
- Classroom Management: Use feedback for improvement, maintain a safe environment, understand conduct policies, support student services, define classroom policies, and ensure safety and functionality of learning spaces.
- Professional and Academic Leadership: Develop curricula reflecting diverse perspectives, engage in reflective practice, participate in professional development, model college values, support initiatives, maintain credentials, and build partnerships.
- Complete required training and maintain skills necessary for the role.
- Support student success and be flexible with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Occupational Qualifications:
- Master's degree in English, Communications, or a related field OR
- Master's degree with 18 semester graduate credits in relevant fields
- Experience with online instruction or willingness to train
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience
