Our Team The Senior Manager of Technical Design at HSN requires a leader with strong technical skills in garment construction and fit. The role covers categories including woven, knits, sweaters, intimates, swimwear, and outerwear across multiple brands. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fit and sample development, collaborating with Designers, Merchants, Vendors, Broadcasting, Digital, and Sourcing teams, as we operate as a television network. You will communicate directly with domestic and overseas vendors and factories to resolve manufacturing issues and oversee global technical fit standards through interactions with international counterparts. Responsibilities include creating specs, measuring garments, conducting fits on live models, and adjusting patterns as needed. You will lead a team of two technical designers to ensure the accurate execution of aesthetic, measurement, quality, construction, and fit standards. Your Impact Lead a team to develop aesthetic and fit standards from initial proto to final production samples. Provide technical guidance to partners on aesthetic, fit, specs, pattern, and construction to improve garment quality. Ensure fit consistency by developing standard blocks and maintaining quality and construction standards across brands. Prepare comprehensive technical specification packets. Coordinate communication with vendors and factories for all garment development aspects. Identify and address potential production, quality, and cost issues to uphold brand integrity. Analyze garments for compliance with specifications, construction, and aesthetic standards. Lead fittings on live models and mannequins from proto to final approval, making necessary adjustments. Manage sample development timelines and support calendar objectives. Collaborate with Technical Design leaders to improve processes and product quality. Build strong relationships with design, sourcing, merchandising, QA, and vendors. Stay updated on market trends in fit and styling to enhance product quality and salability. Promote open communication and teamwork among all partners. What You Bring Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of ten years in technical design. Experience managing a team of at least two technical designers. Deep knowledge of physical fit, body measurements, and garment development. Experience with sourcing, development, and marketing of products. Proficiency in PLM systems, patternmaking, grading, draping, and garment construction. Strong pattern manipulation and communication skills for vendor collaboration. Proficiency in PC, MS Office, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. Ability to work effectively in a global, multi-market environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable to international cultures. Dedicated, with a strong work ethic and high standards, thriving in fast-paced settings. Availability to work in-office on Mondays and Wednesdays.
