Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. These stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging demand for FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 35 Orlando seeks an innovative Content Creator capable of storytelling across all screens. The role involves reporting live on local events, producing engaging content independently, and hosting a daily program. The ideal candidate embraces new technology, thrives live on camera, and can ad-lib effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborate with News Managers to produce live reports from various locations, including pitching ideas and coordinating shoots.
2. Develop concepts for streaming programs to maximize audience engagement.
3. Create compelling local content for station platforms.
4. Utilize technology to stream pre-produced content.
5. Monitor video feeds and stories of local interest with Assignment Editors.
6. Host and narrate live and scheduled programs, including breaking news coverage.
7. Contribute to content strategy discussions.
8. Ensure content adheres to FOX 35 newsroom standards.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
10. Maintain flexibility in scheduling.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE USED:

• Microsoft Office
• iNews or similar newsroom systems
• BitCentral
• Tricaster or similar production platforms
• TVU Channel or similar content management systems
• Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software
• Content Management Systems for web publishing
• Proficiency with social media platforms like YouTube, Meta, TikTok

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 4 years’ experience as a reporter and/or anchor in a medium or large market; college degree in communications/journalism preferred.
• Good news judgment, fair journalism practices, storytelling ability, and strong interview skills.
• Excellent writing, communication, and on-camera skills.
• Proficient with video production and editing tools.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to work independently under deadlines.
• Prior producing and editing experience is a plus.
