Overview
Under the direction of the site administrator, the role involves ordering, receiving, inventorying, stamping, cataloging, shelving, maintaining, and checking in and out all library books, periodicals, and reference materials. The position keeps book circulation records, supervises and assists children assigned to the library individually or by class, and orients all students to the proper uses and rules of the library. Additionally, it includes repairing and disposing of books and/or materials as needed.
Organizes and maintains media center materials and uses media center equipment to provide individual or small group instruction in accordance with teacher prescriptions or requests. The role also involves using various types of copying and duplicating machines to assist in providing classroom materials for teachers and maintaining files of ditto masters, etc.
Provides playground supervision as needed or scheduled and performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the principal. Must be able to work well with other staff and collaborate and plan with Vineland Library.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts degree or 48 transferable Community College units
- Department of Justice / Criminal Background Clearance
- Active Tuberculosis screening
- Valid California Driver's License
- Automobile Insurance (minimum amount required by board policy)
- Ability to be insured by the District
- Reliable transportation in order to work in assigned area(s)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to carry 25 lbs
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Copy of Transcript (Associated Degree or 48 college units)
- Proof of HS Graduation (HS Diploma / GED)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
