Job Summary:
Akima’s Marketing & Communications team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic graphic designer to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for the design and production of executive presentations and graphics for both print and digital, including but not limited to social media graphics, flyers, billboards, banners, event signage, video graphics, and more.
Position reports to the team’s Manager, Graphics Design.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Develops and prepares creative assets including development, re-sizing, and file export.
Manages brand templates including authoring new templates, editing, and archiving assets, creating design templates, and ensuring client access.
Prepares technical and non-technical visual presentations through designing art and copy layouts for publication.
Illustrates established design concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
Designs and prepares electronic files for print, using prepress industry standards for file setup.
Aligns design with input and creates marketing and communications assets using best practices in; gathers and implements feedback; incorporates edits.
Modifies and manipulates illustrations and photography for creative assets and presentations.
Using data, produces editable graphs and other visuals for presentations.
Designs and produces digital graphics for inclusion in video productions.
Assists with the coordination of photography, artwork, and printing.
Occasionally operate copiers/printers and finish materials; may include cutting flyers, binding presentations, folding brochures, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have strong creative skills, backed by a portfolio of work demonstrating a passion for design and typography. The ideal candidate will have experience working in numerous types of design, be driven by new perspectives, and be able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
2-4 years of relevant design experience in an agency or marketing environment
Bachelor’s degree in design or related field
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be highly organized and able to multitask
Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must demonstrate a willingness to take and apply feedback to improve
Must have a keen eye for detail
Must be able to quickly adopt and apply the company’s brand standards
Demonstrate a strong eye for effective typography, iconography, color, and balanced page layouts
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience creating 2D motion graphics.
Experience designing for Performance platforms.
Background creating illustrations for B2B content.
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Lightroom is a plus.
