Scope and Purpose:
We are seeking a UI/UX Designer with a strong focus on web and mobile applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing seamless, user-friendly, and innovative interfaces for web and mobile applications. This role will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive user experience that aligns with business goals and user needs. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects at the forefront of web and mobile technology, shaping user experiences that impact on our clients globally.
This is a Houston based hybrid position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process, from concept to final implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define user requirements and design optimal solutions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs for cloud platforms, mobile apps, and desktop applications.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs.
- Design intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that meet the needs of diverse users across multiple devices and platforms.
- Ensure that design consistency is maintained across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, web-based cloud applications).
- Stay up to date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies, especially related to cloud and mobile app development.
- Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Behavioral Psychology, Computer Science, or in a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- At least 2 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on desktop and mobile applications (both iOS and Android).
- Possess a strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing cloud and mobile applications.
- High proficiency in UI/UX design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and similar.
- Advanced expertise in HTML and CSS with a solid grasp of modern styling practices.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and responsive design techniques.
- Experience with prototyping tools and conducting user testing to validate design decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and defend design decisions effectively.
- Possess expert knowledge in CSS, HTML, Responsive Design.
- Understanding of mobile app development processes and how UI/UX design fits into the development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with cloud-native application design, security considerations, and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about user needs and business goals.
- Experience in designing various screen sizes and devices, optimizing user experiences across platforms.
- Familiarity with front-end development frameworks such as Vue.js, React, Angular, or Flutter; Hands-on experience with Vue.js is a plus.
- Experience working in agile development environments.
- Foundational understanding in the following technical areas is a plus:
- Frameworks: Web API, ASP.NET, .NET Standard, .NET Framework, Entity Framework, VueJS, Vuex, Bulma, WinForms, WebForms
- Languages: JavaScript, C#, SQL, HTML
- Development Tools: Git, NPM, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code
Travel Requirements:
This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
