Position Summary
This position will lead a team of Production Artists tasked with creating packaging artworks. All artwork executions are coordinated with the client to maintain the integrity of the approved designs and themes. The Production Artist Team Lead must thrive in a professional, fast-paced environment, and lead a team across multiple projects. Able to exercise high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks.
Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results
Communicate standards to team of Production ArtistsTrain and mentor Production Artists team to meet standardsAssign and monitor work as neededReview job ticket instructions to determine requirements of job productionExecutes creative and graphic concepts in collaboration with assigned teamUse appropriate software applications to (Illustrator, Photoshop CS suite and later) perform the electronic assembly function of preparing files for digital productionQuality control all work performed following the department's standardized proceduresReviews the work of junior Production ArtistsUpdate the schedulers & Customer Service regarding job(s) statusCollaborate with co-workers to ensure project is completed properlyAttend necessary online meetings when required or requestedAssist in the development of written procedures as new clients and projects are addedParticipate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business
Competency Requirements
Experience using Illustrator, Photoshop and general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
Experience of applying print standards to image content preferredExperience working in and maintaining a color managed environment preferred
Understanding of file types used in print and in digital applicationsPractical experience applying principles of color theory preferredExperience in masking techniques
Creative experience in packaging environment preferredProficient with current Mac OS
Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements
This position requires the following knowledge and skills:
Some College/Associate's Degree preferred5+ years' experience preferredTrade school certificate in Graphic Arts/Printing preferredFull comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
