Hourly rate: $21.63 - $24.00
This position is responsible for providing information and educational resources to Family Members, providing referrals to community resources, staffing a full-time Family Resource Center, and representing the program at various community meetings.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
- Provide information and educational resources to Family Members and facilitate referrals to community resources.
- Host Parent and Youth Support groups.
- Assist families and the community in understanding the scope and services of the program.
- Ensure youth and family voice and choice are incorporated into service delivery.
- Familiarize with systemic issues affecting individuals and families; monitor safety concerns.
- Develop proactive approaches to crisis patterns and address problems early.
- Utilize knowledge of child-serving systems (e.g., DCF, DYS, DMH, EEC), IEP and special education info, CRA/Juvenile court issues.
- Develop and manage the FRC calendar.
- Recruit and support volunteers to lead support groups as needed.
- Complete progress notes and maintain organized records in electronic systems.
- Follow all team and agency policies and procedures.
- Attend conferences, meetings, supervisions, and trainings.
- Present cases for review within team and utilization review settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services and six months of experience working with the target population or navigating child and family systems; or an Associate’s degree with one year of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/GED with at least one year of experience.
- Be an active team member of the Family Resource Center.
- Align with the FRC mission to provide community-based, culturally competent programs, including parent education, support groups, early childhood services, and specialized services for Children Requiring Assistance.
- Develop positive relationships with individuals and families served.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and cultural awareness.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently, articulating progress and risks clearly.
- Build relationships with community resources and providers.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity and self-awareness in practice.
- Lived experience with mental health systems is beneficial.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
- Be willing to travel within the community and have access to a personal cell phone.
- Obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
