Position Overview

This is a full-time Music Teacher position at Hilltop Elementary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an educational field.
• Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach at the assigned grade level and academic area.
• Relevant experience for the position.
• Other qualifications deemed necessary by the Board of Education.
• Proven ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, parents, and students.

Minimum Responsibilities

1. Curriculum and Instruction
   • Demonstrate solid content knowledge and pedagogical practices based on current research.
   • Teach district-approved curriculum without imposing personal cultural, political, religious, or philosophical beliefs.
   • Create measurable, standards-based, relevant instructional goals.
   • Deliver differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs.
   • Implement engaging, student-active learning activities with organizational clarity and student choice.
   • Use assessments aligned with learning goals to monitor student progress.
   • Maintain a classroom environment that promotes respect, caring, and effective learning.
   • Establish clear standards and procedures for student behavior, addressing individual needs respectfully.
   • Integrate technology to meet the needs of 21st-century learners.
   • Monitor and adjust instruction based on formative and summative assessments.
   • Provide constructive, timely feedback to students and parents.
   • Demonstrate cultural awareness and adapt instruction to reflect multicultural content and perspectives.
2. Professional Responsibilities
   • Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
   • Communicate effectively and culturally sensitively with families.
   • Contribute to school initiatives and curriculum development.
   • Engage in professional development and apply current research to practice.

   • Supervise school activities and perform duties as assigned.
