Service Change . The period of the assignment will vary depending on the available workload but will likely range between four weeks to eight weeks, yet not to exceed 90 days. This recruitment may be used to generate a pool for future Special Duty Assignment (SDA) positions that may occur in this classification. The pool would be valid for twelve months upon creation and may be extended at the discretion of the hiring authority. Applying equity and social justice principles

You will be: Handling of communications materials:
Assist with handling of communication documents like schedules, brochures, etc. Proofreading:
Proofreading communications and scheduling materials. Rider Alerts:
Research, draft, produce and post bus stop Rider Alerts related to the service change.
Street Teams:
Assist with the preparation of information packets, training team members and assisting the teams in the field. Signage:
Assist with the preparation and posting of transit service information at transit centers, bus stops and in the transit tunnel. Other Duties as Assigned:
There are many elements to executing the Service Change that requires a team effort and wearing different hats. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of Metro's transit service area, transit routes, schedules, and other organization knowledge. Dependable, reliable and attention to detail. An understanding of customer needs, use of our system, and expectations. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel and Word; knowledge of InDesign is desirable, but not required. Valid Washington State Driver's license is required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals. Highly organized, with attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy of work products. Ability to prioritize assignments, manage daily work assigned, and meet deadlines. Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and proofreading. Clear written communicator, especially over email. An independent thinker, who can also work in collaboration with others. This work may require: Working collaboratively with staff in the King Street Center office and in the field. Driving Metro vehicles in heavy traffic and making frequent stops to post service information at bus zones and transit facilities. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Using hand tools and basic mechanical knowledge. The work week is normally 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., subject to adjustment according to the demands of preparing for the service change. This position is
non-exempt
