Overview
Position: Event Planner We’re seeking a creative, detail-driven, and highly organized Event Planner to bring the APF mission to life through impactful community experiences. Responsibilities include planning health equity forums, outreach activations, fundraising galas, and cultural workshops that foster connection, elevate visibility, and create meaningful impact. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on logistics and is passionate about purpose-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute all aspects of APF events, including vendor coordination, venue logistics, staffing, and on-the-day management.
Develop detailed timelines, task lists, and budgets; manage deliverables to ensure timely and within-scope event delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with APF’s mission and messaging.
Support branding efforts by working with the Marketing team to develop event collateral, signage, and promotional materials that reflect APF’s identity.
Manage guest registration, RSVP systems, volunteer assignments, and onsite logistics for a seamless attendee experience.
Coordinate post-event activities including wrap-up, debriefs, impact reports, and lessons learned.
Work across departments to identify program-specific event needs and incorporate community voices into planning and execution.
Represent APF at events, embodying our values of inclusion, excellence, and cultural responsiveness.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in event planning, nonprofit coordination, or community engagement.
Strong project management, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
Creative eye with attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to culturally responsive practices.
Proficiency with Canva, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and event platforms such as Eventbrite and Splash.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Long Beach and local community landscape.
Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Khmer, or other relevant languages.
Experience coordinating with city agencies, sponsors, and grassroots partners.
