Responsibilities include:

• Creating and implementing programs
• Performing reference and reader’s advisory
• Working alongside and connecting with parents, caregivers, and teachers
• Providing outreach to local schools, community organizations, and childcare providers

Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
• At least one year’s experience working with children and teens and their caregivers in a library or a comparable field
• Highly organized and able to work both within a team and independently
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Superior customer service attitude
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance in compliance with Illinois law
• Employment may be contingent upon a background check
