Summary of Position
Dynamic sales professional to sell digital, print, streaming TV and sponsored content media solutions to local businesses on Long Island, NY. Drive success for advertisers by representing Newsday’s wide variety of media solutions in an assigned territory and/or category. Achieve sales targets by generating new leads, building relationships & closing sales.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Communicate effectively to provide existing accounts and prospects with information on Newsday’s advertising products, services and new initiatives.
- Provide highly effective advertising solutions and integrated marketing strategies to meet advertiser’s marketing goals and objectives.
- Build strong relationships with existing accounts and advertising agencies to understand and support the evolving needs of their business &/or clients.
- Proactively source new business though cold calling. Monitor competitive media and identify opportunities to increase market share.
- Attend chamber of commerce, business events and trade show conferences to promote Newsday’s products and services.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM system to enter orders, research account history, monitor revenue and generate reports.
- Work cross departmentally in team environment to ensure superior customer service.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and objectives.
Essential Job Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 3-year sales experience within a similar industry.
- Proven track record of sales success.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and utilize research to develop and support solution-based programs for customers.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM system.
Physical Requirements
- Employees are required to work out in the field visiting clients and sourcing new business five (5) days per week.
- Attend occasional events before and after normal business hours as needed.
- Required to be onsite at Newsday for key weekly meetings or as required.
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time in the designated territory.
- Ability to drive to client locations and other related site visits.
- Driver’s license in good standing required.
Compensation
- The salary for this position is $55,000.00 plus commission.
