Job Overview:

A prominent law firm headquartered in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a skilled attorney to support its growing intellectual property team. This role is designed for legal professionals with experience in brand management, digital content protection, and advertising-related matters. Duties:

1. Manage trademark portfolios, including clearance, prosecution, and maintenance
2. Oversee online brand enforcement efforts across digital and e-commerce platforms
3. Conduct and respond to cease-and-desist communications and related enforcement strategies
4. Handle copyright matters related to digital and traditional media content
5. Advise on advertising and marketing compliance, including social media campaigns
6. Provide strategic support to clients regarding brand protection and IP rights management
7. Collaborate with colleagues across IP and litigation teams for integrated client service
8. Maintain accurate records and manage docketing related to trademarks and copyrights

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 2 years of legal experience in trademark prosecution and enforcement
2. Proficiency with online infringement issues and familiarity with take-down procedures
3. Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
4. Strong writing, research, and communication skills
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
6. Admitted to the bar in any U.S. state, with the ability to gain admission if required

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

Active membership in a U.S. State Bar

Skills:

1. Deep understanding of U.S. trademark laws and USPTO procedures
2. Knowledge of digital IP issues, including DMCA and platform-specific enforcement
3. Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail
4. Familiarity with advertising law, FTC guidelines, and marketing disclosures
5. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and legal teams
6. Experience using IP management software is advantageous

Job Location:

Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid - generally 2-3 days per week in-office)
