Requirements
Summary of Functions:
The Director of Communications will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the Joseph Farms brand, engage stakeholders, and drive awareness. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding for media relations with a passion for storytelling.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic communication plan and comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the Company’s goals and objectives.
Oversee all internal and external communications, including press releases, media relations, social media, website and company communications.
Manage the Joseph Farms brand image and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
Assist with Customer visits, media events, and industry events as needed.
Develop strategies to enhance brand recognition and loyalty.
Develop proactive crisis communication and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
Research and ensure all product labels comply with local, national, and international regulations, accurately reflecting nutritional facts, ingredients, allergens, and expiration dates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling content that highlights the Company’s products, values, and achievements.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve communication strategies.
Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
Participate in the annual Management review of the Food Safety and Quality System.
Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations
Comply with GMPs in the plant
Organizational Relationships:
The position reports to the EVP of Supply Chain and Business Development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related field with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand management strategies for CPG, dairy preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong media relations skills and experience working with national and local media.
Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex communication challenges.
Experience in the food industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
