August 4, 2025 - June 12, 2026 Job Description Under the supervision of the Lab School Director and guidance of the Early Childhood Education Lab Mentors, the Social Media Manager will support the Early Childhood Education Lab School by creating, managing, and maintaining engaging social media content that highlights the program’s mission, achievements, and activities. This role is ideal for students with strong communication and creative skills, and a passion for early childhood education. Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation: Develop and post engaging content across social media platforms, including photos, videos, graphics, and captions that showcase classroom activities, events, and program highlights. Create posts that promote the program’s philosophy (e.g., Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori) and its role within the MPC campus community. Manage the program’s social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). Schedule regular posts to maintain consistent online engagement. Monitor account activity, respond to comments/messages, and maintain a positive and professional tone. Collaborate with the lab school staff to promote upcoming events, workshops, and activities. Highlight achievements of children, staff, and student teachers in posts (with appropriate permissions). Adherence to Policies:
Ensure all content complies with MPC’s policies, including privacy and confidentiality guidelines. Obtain consent for sharing images/videos of children, staff, and families when necessary. Attend onboarding and professional development sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Eligibility Criteria
Good physical and mental health. Nurturing attitude toward children. Positive body language and gentle tone of voice. Strict observance of health and safety rules. Must apply for Federal Financial Aid and be eligible for Federal Work-Study. Be currently enrolled at MPC. Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units for Fall/Spring or 3 units for Summer. Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Be a student in good standing and not on Academic, Progress, or Disciplinary Probation. Must have an updated Education plan on file. Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience with children aged 2 to 5 years. Willingness to obtain additional qualifications as required. You may complete our Federal Work Study Application here.
