Internship Summary: The Washington Wild Things, a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and creative individual for a Marketing and Events Internship. This individual will be responsible for executing all assigned event operations from prospecting potential events, to execution day of, and completing a post event recap. The Marketing and Events Internship is a perfect fit for those with high energy who excel in a fast-paced work environment and are looking to work in the sports industry. This program provides students with valuable hands-on behind-the-scenes experience.
Reports to:
Vice President of Entertainment and Community Relations
Responsibilities:Execute all Wild Things and community events and project, as assignedPrepare promotional materials to be brought to events and given to vendorsAssist with Mascot appearance scheduling and executingCreate content and manage communication on social media platformsAssist with the creation and production of marketing materialsInteracting in a pleasant manner with the public to market the organizationComplete post-event evaluations and follow up with event organizersResearch upcoming events to attendWork 10-20 hours per week & weekends, being a combination of in-office work and outside eventsOther duties as assignedDesired Skills/Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Communication Studies, Marketing, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field preferred but not requiredWilling and able to work irregular and late hours, including holidays, nights, and weekendWilling and able to travel for events in the greater Washington, Pittsburgh, and Wheeling areasReceiving school credit for internshipPassion for event planning with general knowledge of baseball social media platformsEnergy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environmentAbility to assume other responsibilities as requiredAbility to stand for long periods of time, possibly in high heat or rainThe following materials are required to be considered for this position:
