Requirements
Job Summary
The PCB Layout Designer (AKA PCB / CAD Designer) will play a critical role in the execution of PCB layout. The role will primarily entail close collaboration with clients, electrical engineers, and other NS team members to produce detailed layouts of printed circuit boards and supporting documentation for production using CAD (Altium, PADS, Xpedition, etc.) software.
Essential Functions •Libraries management, PCB Layout, component placement review and approval •Develop PCB layout solutions •Leads PCB layout reviews (Including high speed feedback, e.g. crosstalk analysis and best practice strategies) •Work with cross-functional product development teams in supporting product development •Maintain PADS libraries •Keeping up to date on latest PCB material, layer construction, manufacturing guidelines, and implementing into design as applicable •Electronic components selection and qualification through collaboration with the engineering team •Create engineering documentation that allows the manufacturing of PCBAs, including schematics, bills of materials, assembly drawings •Working in a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of electrical hardware and mechanical engineers •Participate in periodic departmental and program meetings to ensure continuity and cohesion amongst the team •Demonstrate the ability to respect and support colleagues at all levels. Consistently contribute to a positive work environment for all associates. Mentor junior associates, as appropriate
Competencies or Experience Requirements
Mandatory Minimum of 5 years in relevant career experience Advanced proficiency in CAD-related software (Altium, PADS, Xpedition, and others if possible) The ability and desire to 'flex' between military, medical, consumer, and industrial product types.
