Available Title(s): 1343-YN_ADMINPRO – Marketing/Promotions Coordinator Business Title: Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience Employee Type: Admin. Professional Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience, in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing & Fan Experience, you will oversee the development, implementation, and execution of in-game presentation for assigned sports, a comprehensive strategic marketing and promotions plan for all home athletic events for all assigned sports targeting a variety of diverse audiences including alumni, faculty, staff, friends of WSU, administration, and current students. You will directly oversee the Marketing of any combination of the following sports: Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, and Swimming programs. You will manage a variety of public relation activities on-campus and within the community. Additionally, you will also assist the Director of Marketing and Fan Experience with oversight of ZZU CRU, WSU’s student fan group. You will be responsible for the oversight of the Marketing Department’s student practicum program, including the recruitment, hiring, and tracking hours for all Sports Management practicum students. In addition, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions will work in conjunction with our multimedia rights holder, Learfield, to creatively expand the reach of the Junior Cougar program. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $4,061.84 – $4,333.34 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Advanced degree in marketing, public relations, communications related field. Demonstrated successful marketing and promotion experience in athletics. Demonstrated work experience in sponsorship sales and contract fulfillments. Demonstrated successful experience in management and supervision of internship or student programs. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends on a regular basis. Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards. Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines. Demonstrated experience working in positions that require strong communication skills. Possess strong time management and organizational skills. Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe software. Ability to work with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations.
