Equity participation in a high-growth, venture-backed company Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and flexible hybrid/remote work arrangements Opportunity to help define and build a transformational platform at the intersection of robotics, construction, and sustainability Position Summary X-Hab 3D is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer with full-stack development expertise to drive the next phase of productization and field deployment of our mobile 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) platform. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to shape the foundation of a platform that can scale globally. This role blends real-time robotic systems architecture with hands-on full-stack UI/UX development to deliver a seamless, intelligent customer experience. The successful candidate will be in a position to influence company direction and technical standards from the ground up in an industry poised for disruption. The ideal candidate has deep technical breadth — spanning real-time control systems (robotics, embedded software) and intuitive operator dashboards (front-end/back-end web applications). You will lead the design and integration of: Full-stack printer control and monitoring interfaces Real-time visualization tools for print progress and system health Closed-loop synchronization between printer and mixer-pump operations Integration with precision positioning systems for automatic printhead recalibration Because close collaboration with our mechanical, electrical, and field systems teams is critical, this role requires a primarily on-site presence, but with some flexibility for remote work, when / if appropriate. About X-Hab 3D X-Hab 3D is a construction automation company developing mobile, robotic platforms that transform how structures are built. Our compact, all-terrain systems are equipped with fully programmable robotic arms capable of 3D concrete printing (3DCP) as well as a wide range of construction-related applications — including material handling, grading, excavation, repair, inspection, and more. Built to meet the most demanding performance and reliability standards — including those required by the U.S. military for remote and austere environments — our systems serve as high-impact productivity tools across residential, commercial, civil, and defense construction markets. At X-Hab 3D, we are focused on delivering integrated, systems-level solutions that combine advanced hardware, intelligent software, and innovative materials — including the development of low-carbon alternatives to ordinary Portland cement — to drive the next generation of construction productivity and resilience. Key Responsibilities Architect and lead the development of a scalable software platform connecting robotic motion, material extrusion, sensor data, and user interface layers. Integrate external precision positioning systems for high-accuracy localization and closed-loop print recalibration. Define modular API and protocol standards across hardware and software layers. Full-Stack Software Development (UI/UX Focus) Design and develop customer-facing printer dashboards for real-time control, remote monitoring, and troubleshooting. Build intuitive, responsive web applications and visualization tools for print progress, system status, and simulation previews. Deliver commercial-grade, user-friendly software packages that support field operators and customer deployments. Collaborate with customers, product managers, and field engineers to refine user experience requirements. Real-Time Systems Development Lead real-time system integration across the robotic arm, mobile platform, and mixer-pump subsystems. Prototype synchronization logic between printing and material delivery (closed-loop control). Optimize system reliability, latency, and fault tolerance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Translate cross-disciplinary product goals into actionable software requirements. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product teams to ensure cohesive system performance. Mentor junior developers and support best practices in code structure, documentation, and testing. Future-proof the platform for integration of smart automation, AI-driven adaptive printing, and digital twin capabilities. Continuously evaluate and incorporate emerging best practices in full-stack, robotics, and simulation technologies. Qualifications & Experience 8+ years professional experience in full-stack software engineering or systems software development for robotics, automation, or industrial platforms. Proven hands-on experience delivering commercial-grade, user-friendly software packages for external customers or field operators. Full-stack proficiency: Front-end (e.g., React, Vue.js), back-end (e.g., Node.js, C#, Python/Flask/Fast API), and database systems (SQL/NoSQL). Strong background in real-time robotic control systems, embedded development, and sensor integration. Experience with robotic software frameworks (ROS2 preferred) and real-time operating systems (e.g., RTOS, Linux). Familiarity with 3D visualization libraries (e.g., Three.js, WebGL) is a plus. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Personal Attributes Systems Thinker: Ability to design scalable, modular architectures. UI/UX Mindset: Deep empathy for customer experience and usability. Technically Fearless: Willingness to prototype and iterate rapidly across hardware and software layers. Highly Collaborative: Effective cross-disciplinary communicator and team player. Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving requirements and ambitious timelines. Mission-Driven: Excited by the opportunity to transform construction through automation, robotics, and sustainability. How to Apply Please submit your resume and a cover letter highlighting your direct, hands-on experience delivering full-stack, commercial-grade software for robotic, automation, or industrial applications. Emphasize examples where you created intuitive customer-facing interfaces for complex systems and/or led cross-disciplinary integration efforts. Seniority level
