JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for directing the production of video projects under the direction of the Director of Communications & Marketing or designee.
MAJOR DUTIES
Directs the production of video marketing materials for the university, including scripting, planning, scheduling, shooting, editing, voicing and delivering of video content.
Develops video content for distribution on appropriate electronic platforms including the university's website, in-house monitor system, YouTube channel and other venues.
Provides b-roll support to accompany pitched news stories.
Directs the production of special event video materials; works closely with event organizers to determine video needs and creates plans to meet those needs including distribution of video content.
Categorizes videos on the system and ensures all permissions have been secured prior to upload; develops plans to increase viewership.
Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of field and studio video and audio production equipment, techniques and standards.
Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs, especially video editing software including Apple Final Cut Pro X; Apple Motion; Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop and Media Encoder and Avid ProTools.
Knowledge of current and emerging venues for distribution of video content.
Knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
Skill in oral and written communication, particularly in script development.
Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The variety of tasks to be coordinated contributes to the complexity of the position.
The coordinator will meet with clients and other communication staff to evaluate the scope of requested work, unless it is of a regular and routine nature. The coordinator will share their evaluation of the work with their supervisor before proceeding.
The purpose of this position is to direct the production of video content for a variety of university needs. Success in this position contributes to the effective communication and marketing of information to prospective and current students, alumni, community leaders, and the general public.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, alumni, other communications professionals, vendors, and members of the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguishes between shades of color.
The work is typically performed in an office and studio. Some outdoor video production will be required.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
Thisposition has direct supervision over student workers as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
