The City of West Allis is hiring a Public Safety Communications Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. In this key role, you'll oversee the handling of emergency and non-emergency calls, ensure accurate and efficient dispatching of resources, and support dispatcher performance using advanced CAD systems.
You will be responsible for monitoring team performance, providing coaching, and developing performance improvement plans as needed. West Allis residents earn an additional 5% on top of the pay range. Learn more and apply today! Examples of Duties Supervise the 911 Communications Center and the dispatchers on a daily basis. Make sure that calls for service are handled in a timely manner and efficiently. Use information from overdue municipal citation to enter arrest warrants into the Crime Information Bureau Database. Remove warrants when offenders are arrested. Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for service, dispatch and track police and fire units. Create, disseminate, and review training to maintain certifications and standards. Complete periodic and annual reviews of dispatchers. Qualifications Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in emergency service dispatch operations. At least one (1) year of recent supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Associate's degree in Public Safety, Police or Fire Science, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
