The Department of University Relations at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Remote) Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist.
About the Opportunity
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Specialist is key to administering, configuring and managing West Virginia University's SFMC environment. This person guides the execution of admissions and recruitment email communications primarily through Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud and Blackthorn. This person will be responsible for crafting comprehensive journey strategies, implementing automated workflows and monitoring performance metrics. The ideal candidate will understand marketing automation, journey orchestration, data segmentation, CRM integration, event management and campaign analytics.

Wellness programs
What you'll do:
Marketing campaign management
Design, execute, and monitor campaigns, journeys and automations using SFMC Journey Builder, Email Studio and Automation Studio.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build campaigns, utilizing Content Builder templates to maintain a consistent brand and voice.
Utilize journey testing and Litmus to preview subscriber experiences and verify quality and function of email communications.
Assist with building HTML emails, using templates in Content Builder, Litmus and Blackthorn.
Journey strategy and planning
Develop comprehensive journey strategies using Journey Builder, incorporating personalized messaging and dynamic content.
Utilize shared data extensions and Salesforce reports to send emails in Journey Builder based on audience segmentation.
Implement automated workflows and advanced journey building, including complex entry and exit criteria.
Conduct A/B testing to optimize messaging, content and timing within subscriber journeys.
Analytics and Reporting
Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide data-driven insights and recommendations to marketing and recruitment team members.
Utilize SFMC Analytics Builder, Intelligence Reports and custom reporting capabilities to generate comm reports.
Monitor performance of Einstein STO, Google Analytics and other integrated SFMC tools.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical or process issues as they arise.
CRM and Data Integration
Help to monitor database integrity and compliance (ex: internal system audits, data cleaning).
Create manual data extensions and filter existing CRM-based data extensions for email fulfillment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
Two (2) years of experience managing email marketing campaigns in SFMC.
Experience building and testing HTML emails using Litmus is a plus.
Experience with CRM integration, data synchronization and API integrations is a plus.
Solid understanding of marketing processes and tactics and email best practices.
Knowledge of CAN-SPAM, GDPR and CCPA regulations.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
Demonstrated excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
SFMC certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Marketing Cloud Administrator).
Working knowledge of coding languages (AMPscript, SQL, HTML, CSS) as they relate to email.
