We are L3DFX. We create some of the entertainment industry's most exciting scenic, theming, props, and special effects. If you've ever marveled at the works of a theme park, major motion picture, or entertainment center this is the job for you!We are looking for a detail oriented and resourceful person who can take a hands-on approach with projects. You're going to be elbow deep in some creative and dynamic work. We are currently looking for an energetic, innovative Technical Director with experience working in a fast-paced environment. This team member must be a problem solver and must be ready to jump in immediately.Here is what we are looking for in an ideal candidate!Duties/Responsibilities: *Performs other related duties as assigned.Responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in creative development and coordinating/partnering with creative team.As a leader for crew, and technical/production planners, the Technical Director provides leadership and functions as a mentor/developer and promotes Company-wide standards and efficiencies.Meet with the project manager to go over technical/build ideas.Technical drawings as needed and meet with the creative department to review all technical drawings.Meet with Design team and Project Manager to discuss best practices for the project to completionAttend production meetings and be prepared to discuss progress.Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and able to meet deadlinesStrong troubleshooting, problem solving and decision-making skills, often under pressureDemonstrated leadership, partnering and strategic planning skillsHighly motivated requiring minimal direction and follow upProven ability to support the creative process by collaborating with all stakeholdersAbility to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and travelProven knowledge and proficiency in some or all of the following engineering disciplines: structural, mechanical, electrical, software, safetySupervise technical execution of building scenery.Qualifications:Minimum 3 years’ experience in Themed Entertainment preferredProven knowledge and understanding of the operation and artistic application of a wide variety of themed entertainment show systems, methodologies, and technology.Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with entertainment industry state-of-the-art technologies.Proven experience with methods and materials used in Themed Attraction design and fabrication.Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express creative ideasBonus Round: Robotics and Animatronics experienceRequirementsRequired EducationBachelor’s degree in Technical Theater or equivalent with focus on technical design, construction and productionPreferred EducationBS or MA in Technical Theater or equivalent with focus on technical design, construction and production
