Sitting within the Communications Office, the CPS Marketing department serves as a full service, integrated marketing firm supporting all of the district's departments, network offices and selected schools. Our work includes developing marketing strategies, building marketing assets, and managing marketing projects and campaigns covering brand, collateral, advertising, websites, social media, videos, events, and other marketing tactics.

Job Summary:

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time/Temporary Marketing Project Manager to join our Marketing office. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Marketing, the Part-Time/Temporary Marketing Project Manager will serve as a lead advisor to district departments, networks and schools on how to use integrated marketing strategies to drive educational outcomes, family engagement, program participation and enrollment demand. The Part-Time/Temporary Marketing Project Manager will also utilize a studio of freelancers to complete various marketing projects across the district.

The Part-Time/Temporary Marketing Project Manager will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

Schedule and lead marketing planning meetings with business ownersDevelop marketing plan recommendations, timelines and budgetsDetermine and distribute work assignments to marketing team membersDefine and monitor the content strategy and messaging direction of projects and campaignsProvide design feedback, and ensure that creative concepts support the objectives of the project and are of the highest aesthetic qualityManage quality assurance reviews and business owner approvalsCreate media buying schedules and coordinate ad placements with media outletsRequest estimates from vendors and coordinate printing and production ordersCoordinate the distribution of marketing materials with the warehouse teamIn order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Part-Time/Temporary Marketing Project Manager must possess the following qualifications:

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, requiredExperience Required:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working for a marketing or creative industry agency, in-house department, or large organization, requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to lead groups of graphic designers, copywriters, web developers, videographers and other marketing personnel in the planning, writing and distribution of marketing material across the following formats:Brand Identity ElementsRadio, TV, Print and Out-Of-Home AdvertisementsDigital, Paid Search and Social AdvertisementsWebsites and Content Management SystemsEmail and CRM SystemsSocial Media OutletsPrint and Collateral PiecesLong & Short Form VideosEvent Production & Experiential MarketingEnvironmental DesignProficiency in Microsoft Office and project management softwareSpanish language skills preferredConditions of Employment

As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:

Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency -

Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 -

Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
