You will be part of the team responsible for engineering the next generation of platforms to enhance fan experiences and engagement on streaming media products. This includes live and on-demand video processing, live content insertions, and creating custom

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging technology to enhance the sports viewing experience. You will write and maintain clean, concise, modular code in an agile environment, participate in design, code reviews and act as a leading voice.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience5+ years of software development experience, with a strong record of producing and supporting large-scale production systemsStrong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality solutionsProven track record of professional software development processes and tools, including Agile methodologies, IDEs, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworksExperience delivering software solutions using Core Java (or Kotlin), Spring, messaging and databasesExperience with JavaScript(React/Node)Hands-on experience with Google Cloud/AWS and cloud-native tooling such as Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and TerraformExpertise in distributed non-blocking systems (event driven architectures, virtual threads, etc..)Exposure to live/VOD streaming mediaESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Actively participate in team ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, design/code reviews, postmortems)Design and decompose software systems; produce specifications for sub-systems, modules and APIsProduce efficient, high-quality and testable implementationsParticipate in a on-call rotation to support time sensitive and demanding software platformsStay abreast of current tools and technologiesMentor early career team members

Per the California pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000.

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees.
