Role Synopsis

This role offers an enormous opportunity to highlight - both internally and externally - how the company is transforming from an international oil company to an integrated energy company.

Reporting to the Head of Business Communications, US, this role will play a key role in delivering the integrated communications and external affairs (C&EA) strategy for key US businesses across gas and low carbon energy.

By focusing on ensuring that we're delivering clear, concise and accurate messages, the candidate will help drive understanding of our low carbon businesses in support of bp's net zero strategyThese businesses include (but are not limited to): Hydrogen, carbon capture & storage and offshore wind; as well as onshore wind and solar

The candidate will utilize US and global communications and external affairs (C&EA) resources and contribute towards reputation management and content creation through well-defined engagement strategies.

Key AccountabilitiesManage communications for US onshore renewables (Wind energy, Lightsource and Solar) and US offshore wind.Support Lightsource the company's integration:

Plan/support and deliver creative campaigns to promote awareness and understanding of Lightsource as company's onshore renewables business (effective mid-year).Support delivery of overall US G&LCE communications strategy:

Showcasing ways in which the US onshore G&LCE businesses underpin bp's renewables and power TGESupport the Offshore Wind team with internal & external communications in support of business deliverables where necessary.Engaging content:

Develop inspiring and engaging content for external and internal use that tells the story of how these businesses are progressing our low carbon strategy and progress to an integrated energy company

Advise and counsel senior management on communications and external affairs issues and opportunitiesLead on development and execution of integrated plans to support businesses.

Qualifications

A proven track record in internal communications or corporate communications

Strong communication skills (written and oral), excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.Disciplined, proactive self-starter who can quickly adapt and upskill to new requirements and who can apply their knowledge and skills to multiple initiatives.Creative and collaborative with an understanding of how to reach relevant stakeholder groups across multiple disciplines.Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment; experience delivering on deadline.

Essential Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
