Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for internal & external communications and for developing and supporting marketing and branding strategies and content. Must be an excellent communicator – written, verbally, visually - and be knowledgeable about marketing, branding and communication platforms and the social media landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute a cohesive communications strategy that enhances the brand and reputation of the organization.Develop, evaluate, enhance and execute marketing strategies and plans to meet business objectives. Analyze customer data and research to develop and implement marketing plans that meet customer needs, identify market opportunities and enhance service delivery. Determine marketing approach, channel mix, key audiences, messages, budget and marketing ROI requirements.Oversee the content for the corporate website and intranet including content creation, development and maintenance.Develop marketing materials/collateral that clearly communicate the brand to the customer and other stakeholders.Develop content for presentations, email campaigns and other written communications for all levels of the organization.Ensure consistency of key messages across all channels.Use understanding of overall business direction, competitive intelligence and analytics, best practices, customer needs, market influencers, market opportunities, and internal core competencies to work with other stakeholders to modify and enhance product and service offerings.Monitor analytics and recommend changes to marketing and communications strategies and tactics.Behavioral Dimensions/Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing Communication preferred.6-8 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, copywriting and editing skills, with experience writing for a variety of voices and channels.Comprehensive experience in the energy sector with retail and/or wholesale natural gas experience is preferred.Creative mindset/innovative approach and experience in how best to communicate to various audience segments, often with competing interests and needs.Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, SharePoint and WordPress.Strong knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices.Proven track record using technology to support marketing and communications strategies and execution.Experience developing web content, email campaigns, and social media calendars is preferred.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Able to reach, grasp and move items.Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods.Able to speak, read and understand the English language.Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with deadlines that may require more than a 40-hours as required.Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle, or private office.Able to travel as needed, possibly overnight, to attend meetings and/or conferences.
