Are you ready to take the reins of our dynamic Marketing and Communications Department? We're seeking a talented, strategic-minded individual to lead our team to new heights of success.

This position manages the functions and activities of the City of Dickinson's Economic Development Corporation's Marketing and Communications Department. Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Economic Development, the Marketing Manager assists with overseeing all aspects of marketing, digital marketing, social media, communications and graphic design for the department to increase the visibility of City of Dickinson's Economic Development activities to current and potential visitors and investors, as well as promoting the city as a travel destination and place to do business through media and community relations programs; designs, implements and oversees initiatives and campaigns for public events, conventions as well as destination-wide promotions; and provides communications/social media/marketing expertise and support to the CEO and Executive Director Economic Development.Essential Duties• Assist with the design, development, and implementation of an economic marketing program(s), with a focus on branding for the City, to include business retention, business recruitment, new business start-up, leisure activity, and retail and office development, to strengthen the commercial tax base while promoting and encouraging programs that enhance the City's quality of life.• Manages strategic marketing and communication plans for promoting City services and events, including advertising, branding, web, social media, graphic design, video production, and media relations.• Promotes the City as a top destination, working with stakeholders to deliver the City's key messages and maximize engagement of external and internal audiences by conceptualizing, developing, and producing eye-catching digital and print materials.• Manages marketing agencies to ensure that their work aligns with City goals and brand values.• Assists with marketing management of special events and promotional campaigns. Creates talking points, press, invitations/programs, including coordinating efforts with designers, printers, freelancers/vendors, and City Department representatives, may include assisting with set up and take down of events.• Proactively handles media relations by contacting the news media to place stories; responding to inquiries from various media; coordinating news conferences; producing news releases and serving as spokesperson as needed.• Coordinates with the City Manager's Office, EDC Board of Directors, other departments, vendors/agencies as needed.• Provides outstanding internal and external customer service, communicates effectively with the public and fellow team members, and conducts duties, responsibilities, tasks and assignments with a constructive, cooperative, positive, professional attitude and demeanor.• May work irregular hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and departments, and the public using principles of good customer service.• Assist with various matters, including City/public meetings and neighborhood meetings and other matters as assigned.• Oversee the conceptualization, coordination, and engagement of unique social media campaigns; take direct ownership and further the development of the analytical/measurement framework within social media, to monitor, steer, and optimize program progress and success.• Design, oversee and/or coordinate as appropriate, the production of team-related projects including blogs, publications, infographics, specialty items, invitations, signage, website graphics, etc.• Stay abreast of new activities and developments in the local hospitality industry and trends and innovations in destination marketing through conferences, webinars, and workshops.• Travel to attend industry events and to promote the destination to potential visitors (up to 10% annually)• Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:• Principles of marketing, sales, advertising, and public relations with specific focus on business retention and recruitment.• Knowledge of emergency communications fundamentals. Experience responding to media inquiries during a crisis, including crafting media statements.• Creative content: quickly, accurately, and engagingly writes news releases, speeches, copy for social media, websites, presentations, print ads, brochures, flyers, and billboards.• Hands-on social media and Content Management System experience.• Experience with creative marketing equipment and software.• Knowledge of print marketing fundamentals, including graphic design, layout, branding, and production.• Experience managing video production, including scriptwriting, storyboards, editing, and graphics a plus.• Experience with development and execution of marketing plans, capturing metrics of such plans, and performing necessary analysis.• Proficiency with website management and familiarity with CRM/CMS platforms a plus.• Strong ability to manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn) and strategic use and measurement of each.• On or off camera experience a plus.

Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, advertising, public relations, graphic design, English or related field

Experience: Three - seven years of experience in related field. Spanish fluency is a benefit but not required.Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required may be considered.
