GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Email/Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web and email content/designs, and other digital assets for Ross Dress for Less and dd's Discounts brands. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1) Work in partnership with the Senior Creative Manager on website content designs and updates in support of Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) and other brand priorities.

2) Design, code and build emails utilizing HTML/CSS and our email platform.

3) Partner with external vendors for projects, trouble shooting, and software updates as needed.

4) Ensure all website content and emails are WCAG2.1 AA/ADA compliant.

5) Continuously utilize analytics and learnings to optimize future website content and emails.

6) In partnership with the Senior Creative Manager, support social and digital asset creation.

As a member of the Marketing team, the Email Web Developer collaborates and partners with the internal team and external agency partners to execute projects that fulfill the team's vision.

The base salary range for this role is $75,700 - $113,650. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Website

• Responsible for WordPress website architecture, implementing new features and functionality, updating content including graphic elements, navigation, and page layouts per submitted creative briefs and design specifications. Create modules, execute redirects, and other design projects utilizing WordPress development best practices.

• Ongoing WCAG/ADA compliance management utilizing monitoring and reporting tool including resolving any issues that arise internally or through agency partners.

• Develop content using HTML5, CSS, and Javascript/jQuery.

• Handle integration of any plugins and perform routine maintenance on our sites.

• Execute SEO tagging, optimizations, and other improvements as needed.

• Ensure performance and manage all technical aspects of the CMS.

Email

• Responsible for coding, producing, proofing, testing, and troubleshooting HTML email campaigns per creative briefs. Ensure all emails are WCAG2.0/ADA compliant.

• Produce high-quality and optimized HTML emails in line with marketing campaign objectives.

• Ensure a consistent email experience across email platforms and user interfaces

Other

• Develop/produce digital assets including social media content, digital ads, and other assets as needed.

• Complete ad hoc projects as needed.

• Prepare PDF documents for universal accessibility including assuring WCAG2.0 and PDF/UA compliance utilizing Adobe accessibility tools and compliance agency partners as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field like Media Arts or equivalent work experience.

• 5 years of overall experience in email, HTML, and web content development ideally as a creative coder, creative technologist, or similar role.

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro for asset creation, editing, slicing and image and social video optimization.

• Experience with email platforms like Acoustic or similar environments.

• HTML email coding experience (hybrid, fluid and responsive knowledge is preferred).

• Experience with CSS and media queries; understanding of their limitations within email.

• Ability to QA to ensure that emails are fully localized/optimized and adhere to best practices.

• Knowledge of email design and coding best practices.

• Experience with Litmus (or similar) testing software.

• Knowledge of generative AI and machine learning preferred

• Thorough understanding of major email clients: Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo!, Apple Mail; their quirks and possessing the ability to quickly identify & troubleshoot rendering issues

• Experience in WordPress Development or like environments required.

• Strong understanding of typography, color, layout, and website interaction.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills useful for interacting with stakeholders.

• Experience handling multiple projects under tight deadlines

• Strong computer skills, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and Photoshop

• Deque Axe Monitoring tool experience or similar ADA/WCAG compliance monitoring and reporting tool.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
