MERIT is hiring for an experienced Senior Retail Designer to join our growing team (either in Los Angeles or New York.) In this role you will work on all elements that support our business at Sephora and globally - from end cap design and development, to in-store visual changes, to event collateral and signage. This role will report into the Art Director and will work closely with creative, retail and marketing teams to ensure a holistic in-store experience. This role is both creative and technical, and is an exciting opportunity to join a growing start-up within beauty.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, design and render our end caps per geography as well as the regular updates throughout the year; includes rendering, dieline work, image selection and copy placementExecute in-store visuals in support of campaignsConceptualize and create in-store collateral for store supportReview and proof graphic materials before the product is marked as completeUnder direction of Art Director, maintain brand esthetic across creative executionsStay abreast of competitor creatives, industry trendsPresent well-developed and strategic creative solutions to meet brand objectives, that are competitive in the beauty industry and help differentiate the brandSelf-manage multiple projects at once and ensure they are completed in a timely mannerRequirements:
5+ years of design experience, with at least 2+ years in retail design. Beauty experience preferred, Sephora retail experience preferredHigh proficiency within Adobe Suite programsEye for visual hierarchy, composition and color, and typographyStrong attention to detail with exceptional typographical skillsAbility to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced environmentConceptual thinking and technical implementationTakes direction and constructive critiques well while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction when neededPrevious experience at a fashion or beauty brand preferredPrevious experience with Sephora in-store graphics a plusExperience or an interest in motion graphics and photography are a plus
MERIT is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to salary compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $93,000 - $100,000, in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more.
