The Communications Director will be a key contributor to the mission and vision at Hills Church by establishing a strategy and communication plan that is essential for the church's growth, health, and development. The role of the Communications Director is not just marketing and promotion - it is strategic planning and leadership. This role is to ensure that in every facet of the church, the overall vision and story of the church are being communicated, both internally and externally.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Communications Director is responsible for:

Overseeing all communications for Hills Church, including external marketing and internal communications, ensuring that they are effective and in keeping with the scripture and our brand.Creating and managing the processes and implementation of all internal requests.Managing our online presence, including all social media and YouTube accounts, churchwide email communications, and website - with a high value on audience engagement.Recruiting and developing teams of photographers, designers, videographers, writers, social media managers, and other creatives in using their gifts to serve the church.Managing all graphic design requests with our outside graphic design studio (DPS).Partnering with ministry department leaders for creative consultations to ensure appropriate creative strategies and that all communication requests are produced and delivered accurately and timely.Ensuring our Sunday production team has graphics for services: pre and post-service slides and videos, sermon series graphics, church news assets, lower thirds, etc.Managing a marketing budget and keeping ministry expenses within that budget.Researching, planning, and executing internal and external marketing initiatives, emphasizing being ahead 4-6 months in advance.Overseeing the look and feel of all campus collateral, including standardizing messaging across all platforms: online, digital, print, and in-person.Creating campaigns and strategies to help our people take their next step into participating in ministry events and our overall engagement pathway.Consistently study the audiences the church is trying to reach and use that knowledge to recommend and implement outreach strategies.Inform leadership of communication priorities/decisions, with an invitation to speak about communications/marketing issues.Performing other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the required knowledge, skill, character, and/or ability.

Bachelor's degree in Communications and/or Marketing (min of 3+ years experience).Expert level written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately both orally and in writing.Must demonstrate strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.Must have very strong organizational skills - able to project manage multiple projects.Must be able to multi-task with excellent time management.Attention to detail is a must.High standard of excellence and professionalism.Willingness to receive and implement feedback.Experience using various social media tools.Novice-level web design/editing skills.Proficiency with various software, including Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to connect and work well with many different personality types.Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure.The desire to lead and develop teams.SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT & ETHICS:
