Job Description*** Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of Client's Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD
*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.
**Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review.**
Position Description:
Derive business processes, analyze user needs, assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, and design and conduct usability testingInteract on a daily basis with the development team on the creation of new web components for the design systemElicit business goals and user needs from stakeholdersCreation of anatomy diagrams for new UI elements (in the form of web components)Support the creation and maintenance for design toolkits in the latest design tools (Figma, Axure 10, XD, etc) used by the UX Design TeamSupport the continuation of design token integration with the design systemFacilitate customer discovery sessionsCreate and refine screen prototypesDocument user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendationsKey Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles documenting user requirements user needs; Interaction/Interface design exp utilizing user-centered methods; front-end development utilizing HTML/CSS/Javascript; exp preparing/presenting findings in groupRequirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience.Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basisMinimum of 8 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User AnalysisMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basisMinimum of 8 years of experience documenting user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendationsMinimum of 4 years of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settingsMinimum of 2 years of experience front-end development of applications utilizing HTML/CSS/JavascriptExperience using Axure RP prototyping software (preferably Axure 10)Experience with Figma prototyping softwareMust provide a digital portfolio of design work for reviewDesired Skills
Experience supporting the creation and/or maintenance of a design systemExperience working with design tokensExperience with StencilJS and/or web component creationExperience with Git/GitHub for version control and repo managementExperience in designing and conducting formative usability tests in both formal and informal settingsExperience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platformsExperience with the Agile/Scrum methodologyPrior experience supporting government agenciesUnderstanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding designHold additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
