Mechanical Designer / Checker

If this sounds like you, apply to this posting with your resume today!ResponsibilitiesCheck and verify all component, assembly and installation drawings and CAD models released through the Product Engineering departmentReview drawings, CAD models, and associated design information to ensure documentation is complete and meets internal drawing and quality standardsWork with internal engineering teams to resolve drawing and design discrepancies when neededProvide guidance to engineers and designers on GD&T datum schemes and tolerancing when neededCollaborate with design team to refine and maintain internal drawing standardsTrack overall drawing quality performance metrics for the department and provide recommendations on drafting training needed and process improvementsConduct regular training within the department on drawing standards and GD&T best practicesDevelop and maintain drawing templates, standard notes, and symbolsQualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology preferred7+ years of relevant work experience requiredStrong knowledge and experience in applying ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing PracticesStrong knowledge and experience in applying ASME Y14.5-2009 and -2018 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standardsFamiliarity with common manufacturing processes and DFMA principlesExperience with computer-aided design and drafting applications (PTC Creo Parametric 6.0 or higher preferred)Experience with PLM applications (Windchill 11.0 or higher preferred)Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
