Description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of the Utah Jazz marketing plan. This position will oversee the development and execution of paid media and promotional efforts on Utah Jazz channels. The Director of Marketing will create marketing strategies that support various departments within the organization including ticketing, corporate partnerships, broadcast, Jazz+, youth, community relations, public relations, people and culture, basketball operations, and others. The Director of Marketing will assist the Sr. Director of Marketing with budget planning and ensuring advertising spend stays within budget. This position serves as the day-to-day contact for various vendors and must run and maintain relationships with our agency and other advertising partners. This position will be responsible for supporting and executing various brand campaigns throughout each season including jersey releases, all-star voting, community initiatives, NBA initiatives, and more. This leader will have a proven track record in the sports industry to help drive opportunities, efficiencies, and creative strategies for the Utah Jazz.

This is a full-time position based in Salt Lake City, UT.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct the creation and execution of marketing campaigns that support ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, broadcast, Jazz+, camps and clinics registrations, community relations activations, and other organizational initiatives.Oversee relationships with paid media agencies and collaborate on the annual paid media strategy that meets yearly KPIs.Lead a marketing staff that liaises with all internal departments to support departmental goals, projects, and overall company objectives.Direct the email and text automation team for the Utah Jazz. Ensure all gameday, offer, newsletter, and season ticket holder communications are sent on time and accurately.Collaborate with the marketing operations team to build creative briefs, ensure timely delivery of assets, and provide clear marketing strategy across various channels.Work with Business Analytics to create and identify fan segments and profiles and deliver targeted advertising campaigns to a relevant audience.With Sr. Director of Marketing, plan the annual marketing budget, and ensure campaigns and projects stay within the allocated budget.Engage and expand the fan base by executing consumer promotions, event planning, and facilitating the creation of persuasive marketing materials.Develop messaging consistent with brand voice and ensure messaging and strategy are targeted to various audiences and executed across various owned and paid channels. Write and edit copy as needed.Work with the Business Analytics team to provide reporting on paid and organic marketing efforts, identify insights, and implement changes to improve campaign results.Exemplify the Utah Jazz mission and values: transparency, all-in, community-obsessed, one team, and scrappy.Other duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES:

Bachelor's Degree (Marketing or related field)Five years marketing work experience (sports or entertainment preferred)Three years of experience leading a marketing teamExperience working with or for media agenciesIn-depth knowledge of paid and owned marketing channelsUnderstanding of audience segmentation and developing customer profiles and insights.Detailed oriented, organized and able to multitask.Flexible schedule with the ability work nights and weekendsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
