Job Summary

The Sr. Product Designer-Licensed Goods designs and develops market winning products. This role collaborates closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Tech Design, Product Integrity, and Sales teams to understand the product needs and execute on the product briefs. This role includes developing original concepts as well as updating and innovating core products to with trend right products that hit margin and drive sales. This role is responsible for the selection of appropriate materials, color palettes, prints, and character development. Responsible to develop and modify designs to ensure ability to execute against cost and manufacturing requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Lead the style development cycle including establishment of color palette sketching of styles in Adobe Illustrator, 3D rendering of styles in Clo 3D, material selection, and creation of print/graphics in partnership with Assistant Graphic DesignerTrend and competitive research on a seasonal basisEnsure all designs are both brand right and designed within our costing goalsLead material sourcing in conjunction with Product Development partners on a seasonal basisCreation and maintenance of line sheetsCreate styles & design packs in Centric PLM systemReview samples in conjunction with Merchandisers, Product Development& Technical Designers for construction details, color, form, style, fit, graphic application, trim, etc. and clearly communicates changes to ensure timely completionCollaborate closely with Design Manager, Merchandisers, and Product Developers to identify and develop white space opportunities within our businessesRevise product documentation based on internal, account and/or licensee feedbackManagement of Assistant Graphic Designer, management of freelancers on an as needed basisCreate designs that are compelling at point of saleCommunicate and present designs to internal and external audiencesThe ideal candidate:

7+ years of design related experience2+ years of management experience, proven ability to provide professional development to direct reportsProven advanced ability to apply and perform design skills including drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, texture, visual presentationDemonstrated ability to create market-appropriate designs within set timelines3+ years graphic design experience, pattern and print design experienceProven ability to present out to customer accounts in a professional mannerEffective use of computer design applications. 3D Design Experience with Clo3D is required. Expert level abilities in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Knowledge of trends influencing design in apparel, textile & children's product industry - Strong understanding of brand identity and business strategy4+ years' experience working with hosiery, or comparable experience working with full knit goods with strong demonstrated understanding of various yarn types, twists, and knit constructions - Historic experience with material engineering/sourcing is a plusAbility to manage several projects & brands with complexity at onceAbility to manage quick turn arounds and filter feedback effectivelyAbility to collaborate effectively across disciplinesStrong written and oral communication skillsShow curiosity, flexibility and eagerness to problem solveBachelor's degree in Apparel Design or related field or equivalent years of experienceOther job Details:
