As the Marketing and Communications Director, you will make an impact in a leadership role at Heart to Heart International (HHI) supporting all aspects of our integrated marketing communications strategy. This highly collaborative role works with fundraising and program teams to craft and deliver critical communications and marketing initiatives as well as lead external brand strategy for the organization.

Responsibilities

PLANNING

- Write, manage and maintain an annual strategic marketing communications work plan. Define solutions and create compelling actionable tactics.

Produce an annual budget for the department, prioritize resources amongst projects.Deliver high quality, timely marketing communications from the work plan.Effectively manage deliverables against time and financial constraints.

EXTERNAL MESSAGING/BRANDING

- Guide the strategy on external communication messaging and branding. Increase HHI awareness through marketing communication, event plans, media relations and other external messaging strategies.TEAM COLLABORATION

- Define, design and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to support HHI programs and work in collaboration with program directors.DATA ANALYTICS

- Leverage data analytics to refine marketing strategies and improve donor engagement and retention. Guide creative direction for external fundraising based on data.

Supervise progress and submit performance return on investment reports on marketing communications activities

DIGITAL MARKETING

- Understand the complexities and latest trends of digital marketing integration (email, web, social) and direct strategy accordingly.INTERNAL

- Support internal communications across the organization, identifying gaps, taking advantage of opportunities for growth, and executing on strategies.FUNDRAISING

– As the organization’s brand voice to donors, this position leads the way in telling the HHI story and building public trust with the goal of engaging target audiences.Qualifications

Exceptional, demonstrated visual, verbal and written communication and copyediting skills. Eye for design aesthetics.Command of storytelling, the creative process, and brand communications.Demonstrate ability to work with executive levels in business, industry and government, foundation management, and other key community leaders.Experience working with graphic design, photography, videography and animation.Desire to continuously learn and grow. Curiosity to understand how your job impacts the work of others – both inside the organization as well as externally.Capability to understand the big picture and see beyond the details.Must have organizational skills and attention to details. Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.Makes effective decisions in a timely manner, under tight deadlines and pressure.Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field of marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or related field.A minimum of 10 years professional experience and demonstrated success in marketing, communications or related field, preference for experience in nonprofit communications.Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and lead marketing strategies, marketing campaigns, and annual marketing communications plans.Experience leading a marketing communications team with employees of all levels.Knowledge of marketing-related best practices in the fields of advertising, public relations, fundraising, media strategies, etc.
