Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works with multidisciplinary design teams in a cooperative and supportive mannerCreates multi-view dimensional drawings of parts and assembliesImplements geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) on drawings to ensure proper fitment and functionality of parts and assembliesServe as an authority on GD&T and drawing quality for the departmentPrepares bills of material (BOMs) and specificationsCreates various documentation and processes engineering changesOptimizes design for cost, manufacturability, maintainability while achieving functional design requirementsMakes various calculations, such as strength of materials, weights, basic forces, and stresses, frequently using charts and tablesWorks with engineers to create designs and resolve issuesProvides assistance to lesser experienced designers by communicating work priorities, providing technical assistance and verifying accuracy of workMaintains CAD equipment by following manufacturer's instruction and procedures; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs, as requiredSupports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organizationAdheres to all quality and safety standardsSecondary Duties and Responsibilities

Level of Education

5+ years strong performance as designer

Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience required; Bachelors degree preferred

Must be able to speak, read and understand EnglishAble to work independently for a weekly basisExpert user of CAD programs, Solidworks preferredExpert knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards (GD&T)Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of SAP business enterprise system for Bills of Materials strongly desiredQuality orientation and high attention to detailPossesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the companyPossesses strong organizational and time management skills, able to work on multiple projects and designs in parallelComfortable sharing knowledge and feedback with other members of the team, and contributing to site drawing standardsPossesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)Experience with programming Vision Measurement Machine preferred, or willingness to learnWork Environment

Work is accomplished in a typical office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control.
