Marketing Manager (Media Strategy)

Contract Length: 1 year – goal for full-time conversion if mutual fit

Rate: 54/hour

Our Consumer Group (CG), a team serving the needs of over 20+ million US consumers to file their annual tax returns, is looking for a Marketing Manager of Brand Media. This role will develop media strategies across multiple brand channels, including Linear, Streaming, Online Video, CTV and audio delivering on the overall brand advertising strategy and fiscal year forecast targets. The Brand Media Marketing Manager will report to the Group Marketing Manager of Brand Media Strategy based in San Diego, CA. In collaboration with our best-in-class media agency, the brand media manager will develop breakthrough media strategies for TV, OTT, Digital, Audio, OOH and new and emerging channels. Our philosophy is “idea everything, media anything” and our approach is informed by consumer insight and data (including MMM) as well as a strong desire to innovate, take big swings, and test-and-learn never-been-done media opportunities. In addition to developing the media campaign(s)/comms approach, this leader will be responsible for driving breakthrough media partnerships, sponsorships and integrations, and will work closely with the creative development team on activation.

This role will focus on bringing traditional/non-traditional media and big creative ideas together to drive greater reach and impact of key messaging. You will play a key role in partnering with the leadership team to expand our reach, explore new strategies & more diverse communities to build upon our brand and evolve our position in the US.

The role will entail implementing industry-leading best practices to develop breakthrough campaigns leaning on research, analytics and experimentation & through creative & bold thinking.

You will work with senior management, analytics, brand, PR, Influencer and performance media teams to help build the vision, shape strategy, evolve measurement and deliver impactful consumer intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Support the media AOR in developing strategic media plans & Go-to-Market Campaign Planning.

Leverage consumer/market insights and media trends to develop hypothesis-driven strategies and GTM tactics to deliver on business objectives.

Ensure media execution is in line with media strategy.

Manage strategy and development of media and communications plans for 360-degree campaign activation Help plus up the media buys with out of the box thinking Institutionalize the use of consumer-driven analytics in media investment planning.

Partner with our media agency to deliver results oriented media investment decisions (how much, where, when, which channels, etc…) Transform performance results, customer behavior insights, and learning into actionable strategy and planning to drive a system of media excellence for the QuickBooks brand Competitive/Market Analysis — Track competitive creative messaging and media activity, draw implications about business strategy, and establish contingency and action plans.

Work with business partners to determine the impact of competitive intelligence on broader business plans.

Measurement - Work with internal and agency analytics teams to design, interpret, and improve upon research methodologies for media effectiveness measurement Program Management - Work with the agency to manage the timelines and budget for the media campaign.

Work with the agency on an ongoing basis to track and manage the program budget and deliver accurate monthly forecasts X-Channel Management - Act as a liaison between brand team and key x-channel stakeholders.

Actively develop relationships and foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between marketing teams

Skills

Minimum 6+ years of experience in a strategic Media Planning, Marketing Analytics &/or Consumer Insights Research that has fostered a deep level of media experience

Ability to successfully engage the media agency and to partner/collaborate with cross functional teams to build strategic plans & insights

Demonstrated ability to execute large-scale marketing strategies, including increasing consideration and acquisition that drive revenue growth

Big picture thinker that can identify large scale sponsorship partnerships

Strong understanding and experience with media buying, KPI development and research practices during campaign planning and execution

Media Agency background a plus “Test & Learn” mindset with track record of innovation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Creative problem-solving and analytical skills Energy and motivation to drive to results in a challenging, fast-paced environment
