We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Counselor to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our residential clients.

Position Summary

The Sr. Marketing & Communication Specialist provides high-level, self-directed support on a wide variety of communications activities including public relations, social media and website strategy and content development, community outreach and education, as well as internal communications. The incumbent will also provide support for various agency and donor events and activities.

Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

• Plans and executes strategic social media campaigns with focus on East House programming, annual events, and advocacy; may include boosting of social media posts.

• Evaluate social media analytics to target and reach specific audiences.

• Tracks new or renewals of paid advertising campaigns and media planning; consults with Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) and/or Associate Vice President (AVP) of Advancement on past paid advertising.

• Works with Rochester Red Wings on yearly commitment for Employee Night; consult with AVP to provide videos, ads, etc., as needed for the event.

• Collaborates with program leaders to collect client and staff stories to be used in various internal and external agency communications.

• Partners with CAO and AVP to provide data and information to be used in the development of high-level marketing materials such as Annual Report, 1966 Society, Annual Appeal etc.

• Drafts and distributes press releases and media briefings; coordinates editorial coverage with CEO, Executive Assistant and other staff as appropriate.

• In conjunction with Human Resources and/or Employee Engagement Committee, edits and produces monthly employee newsletter; research and drafts articles including client and staff stories and other newsworthy items for agency.

• Serves as a member of Employee Engagement Committee, collaborating with Human Resources on the development and promotion of staff engagement activities/events.

• Collaborates with Advancement team on the Catalyst quarterly newsletter; secures stories and creates content as necessary.

• Develops marketing materials and strategies to educate individuals regarding East House programs and services.

• Creates and maintains digital templates for program collateral and client communications; provides training and support to administrative staff on the use of materials as appropriate.

• In conjunction with the CEO, CAO and AVP, proofread Advancement materials prior to going to press; printing internally or publishing electronically.

• Provides support to Advancement team with annual fundraiser (luncheon) events, including, but not limited to communications, and event promotion.

• Oversees ordering of agency branded SWAG for all departments.

• Supports programs with all tabling events, including, but not limited to, attending events as needed for photo opportunities, ensuring East House marketing materials are current and tables have a professional appearance.

• Enrolls and/or maintains membership in American Marketing Association (AMA); regularly attend meetings.

Web & Brand Management

• Maintains and updates agency website.

• Maintains East House branded materials using established guidelines and graphic standards in the creation of internal and external printed materials; serves as a brand steward by ensuring staff and volunteers are aware of branding standards; reviews/approves all East House communications pieces.

• Along with supervisor, serves as a liaison to outside vendors including marketing agencies, printers, website developers, advertising specialty firms, and others, as needed.

Advancement

• Learn donor database Bloomerang to pull donor reports, and mail lists, as well as add notes from donor meetings as needed.

• Supports Experience Ambassador with the input of checks and creation of thank you notes, as needed.

• Collaborates with Advancement Team to lead all pre-event and day-of event logistics, including signature agency events.

• Actively works with CAO on outreach process for new, retained, recaptured and recurring donors with a give of $500 and under.

• Coordinates event volunteers for all special events.

• Attends donor meetings as requested by CAO.

• Leads Holiday Angel Project.

Other Duties

• Follows all applicable policies, federal and state laws, and East House compliance standards.

• May perform other duties as assigned by Associate VP of Advancement or Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Training

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Marketing & Communications, Health Education and/or Community Engagement.

• Equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered.

Experience

• 3-5 years’ Public Relations, Marketing, and/or Advertising experience required.

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience strongly preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Capable of multi-tasking, managing busy calendar, and prioritizing multiple project timelines/deadlines.

• Proficiency with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams and Google Docs.

• Demonstration of excellent writing, editing and communication skills; capable of creating effective external communications.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

• Capacity to adapt to changing needs and demands of the department and organization.

Licensure/Certifications

• Possession of a driver’s license in good standing and access to reliable transportation.

$20.55-$32.95
