Position SummaryThe Marketing and Communications Manager, under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, isresponsible for external marketing and communications across YWCA Utah. This includes managingall YWCA print publications, maintaining and strengthening the YWCA's online presence (website andsocial media), and working with the press to maximize media coverage.

Essential Job functions• Update and maintain website for all of YWCA Utah. This will require close collaboration withprogram directors across the organization.• Maintain regular posts on all social media channels to elevate our work, ensure survivors andmarginalized folks can access our resources, and drive donations.• Work with the CDO to develop a strategy for ongoing blog posts, including inviting ProgramDirectors and Leadership Team to write content.• Design and develop print and digital newsletters for general audience, donors, andpolicy/advocacy listserv.• Oversee all marketing and communications related to signature events, like Leader Luncheonand Candy Cane Lane.• Work closely with Development Team on campaigns and fundraising appeals to raise fundsand reach development goals.• Write, edit, and distribute media outreach, including press releases, PSAs, and advisories.• Coordinate responses to all media inquiries and work closely with the YWCA Speakers'Bureau.• Ensure consistent branding and language on all communications and materials.• Work with graphic designers, printers, and other vendors on projects as necessary.• Take an active role in the successful execution of key YWCA events, taking on assignmentswherever needed.

Openness to working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required attimes to support events.

Qualifications• Minimum 2 years' work experience in marketing and communications• An understanding of, and agreement with, YWCA Utah's mission, values and philosophyregarding the elimination of racism, empowerment of women and commitment to anti-oppression work and social justice.• Understanding and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and anti-racism.• Ability to work scheduled hours on a regular basis, some weekends and evenings required.• Excellent writing, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills.• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjustactivities to complete projects within established timeframe.• Demonstrated experience functioning within multidisciplinary settings.• Skilled in establishing effective working relationships.• Ability to collaborate and invite collaboration.• Able to demonstrate skills in effective communication, conflict resolution and problemsolving.• Experience working in Adobe InDesign, Canva, and Squarespace a plus.Benefits:In addition to being a part of an organization dedicated to race & gender equity in Utah, benefits ofworking at YWCA include:• Paid parental leave (six weeks after 12 months of employment)• Generous package of vacation, sick, and bereavement time available to all employees(amount accrued varies based on hours/week)• Health and dental insurance eligibility for employees, partners, and dependents• 11 paid holidays• Employer retirement contribution of up to 10.5% of gross annual salary when eligible• Professional development with internal and external training opportunities• Free Employee Assistance Program providing counseling options to employees, partners, anddependents

Preferred Qualifications• Experience working in a non-profit organization.

Physical/Sensory DemandsWork is generally performed in a safe and comfortable kitchen environment. While performing theduties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand for long periods of time, lift heavyobjects work in a variety of environments, including outdoor settings.
