Position Description Summary/Purpose:

This position develops and maintains the Universities' brands, represents the department in meetings with internal clients and stakeholders, oversees the production process for projects, and acts as liaison with printers and other vendors involved in the production process. The Senior Graphic Designer supervises junior team members and third-party vendors, including assigning tasks and ensuring that deadlines are met, and acts as the lead creative force of the design team for marketing campaigns and materials.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)In collaboration with campaign and admissions teams, leads the creative team in the conceptualization and development of brand assets for Goodwin University and University of BridgeportDesigns key marketing, fundraising, and communications collateral (direct mail pieces, email and online advertisements, billboards, and newspaper ads used in fundraising appeals and recruitment of new students)Project management (including meeting with internal clients, presenting completed projects, organizing work, assigning tasks to team members, tracking progress, working with vendors, etc.)Serves as representative for the department in meetings with internal clients and stakeholdersDesigns University publications (annual report, acceptance packets)Designs signage systems and bannersDesigns content for digital platforms, including web/email, social media, digital banners, and digital displayDesigns posters/banners/flyersLeads proofing/review process for all design materialsCreates motion graphics content for web and social mediaOccasional copy writing/editingOccasional night and weekend work required to meet production deadlinesConducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followedOther Functions :

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and extensive design portfolioAt least 2-5 years of experience in team management/leadership and project managementRequires expert level proficiency of professional design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After EffectsKeen knowledge of principles and aesthetics of design, marketing, branding, commercial print, and production practicesPhysical and Mental Requirements:Work Environment
