Senior Director, Brand Design

On the Global Design Services (GDS) team, you will provide design guidance, lead the design review and approval process, assist the construction project management functions, and support the strategic growth of all Premium and Lifestyle Brand properties in the United States & Canada (NAM) region.

Your responsibilities will include:

Work with Food and Beverage, Wellness, and Ownership teams to drive necessary renovation and renewal projects.

Review and assess project documents, including design presentations, Architectural, FF&E and GC drawings and specification submittals for compliance with GDS and Brand standards.

Compose written and visual recommendations and approval documents for internal and external publication.

Receive digital and hard copy submittals and manage the process of accurate log maintenance and design reviews.

Track active projects to ensure we are ahead of the curve, monitoring the progress of several design and construction projects.

How you will collaborate with others:

Collaborate with both internal and external third-party business partners.

Provide mentorship to the consultants of hotel owners and GM’s.

What initiatives you will take ownership of:

Lead the evolution and support the maintenance of Brand Narrative Documents, Design Guides, NAM regional D&C Standards, Global Key Brand Attributes, Collection and Lifestyle brand specific initiatives.

Lead collaborative initiatives between Brand and GDS and assist in the writing of RFPs, reviewing proposals and selecting consultants.

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

Four (4) years of experience in direct ownership communications

Four (4) years of team management experience

Ten (10) years of experience in hospitality design and construction roles

Travel up to 50% of the time

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design

Advanced degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Real Estate Development

Seven (7) years of in depth experience in lifestyle brand design and construction

Fifteen (15) years of hospitality experience in a mixture of design and construction roles
