Partners with departments (Manufacturing, Quality Control, Marketing, R&D, etc.) to plan, establish, and maintain a process of design and product development from initial stages to final releaseDevelops strategy and oversees implementation of design launches for Home & Contract laminate portfolios, Solid Surface, and Specialty ProductsAssesses market and industry design trends as well as competitive product offeringsInvolved with print suppliers in an on-going basis to maintain and improve relationship and service needs to Wilsonart’s product and design needsOversees design and relationship development of key OEM accounts for Home Centers, Manufactured Housing, and Office Industry customersProvide consultation and direction to Arborite (sister company) for product design developmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Knowledge of the printing industry, including rotogravure printing and cylinder engravingKnowledge of art history, design, and ornamentationAbility to forecast and document design trends, analyze sales trends and product/design trends by market segments, forecast future directions, and formulate product/design recommendationsAbility to work with a computer and possess the skills necessary to complete job tasksAbility to communicate well in verbal and written formats with both internal departments as well as customersAbility to travel as requiredMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree required.Concentration in recognized design field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.

EXPERIENCE:5+ yearsDesign/product design and developmentTraining or relevant experience in business/marketing principles and metrics

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. Must be comfortable walking on the manufacturing floor and working with associates.
