The Crisis Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of FCS communications for all regions. This role will report to the FCS Director. The Crisis Communications Specialist will be responsible for communication strategies, plans and execution, content creation and review, crisis communications, and maintaining the FCS communications archive and various relevant documentation.Please note that due to the nature of this position, it is the expectation that this role will be Wednesday- Sunday with an on-call (nights & weekends) schedule.

How You Will Make an Impact

Provides real-time communications support in response to global crises.Develops communication plans and scenario playbooks relating to current events and crises with potential business impacts.Provides strategic guidance on communications approach relating to reputational impacts and employee experiences.Assist with stakeholder management and collaborate with global cross functional partners to align on communication goals, channel strategy, and messaging.Partner with internal and external communications teams to develop both proactive and reactive communications strategies.Develop and execute internal communication strategies that inform, connect, and engage employees and generate meaningful conversationsIdentify audiences and communications channels and tailor messaging with the appropriate tone and contentManage and lead projects received by the FCS team from cross-functional teamsExecute new Communications project scopes and initiatives for teams, tracking and monitoring and action items accordinglyBuild partnerships with internal stakeholders and corporate communication teams to develop internal communications in advance of organizational initiatives and announcementsAssist the team across the full spectrum of communications, including executive / leadership communications, crisis communications, general awareness communicationsWork in a variety of communications platforms: social media, emails, video, wiki, digital signage, etc.Work closely with the Communications Manager to support communications and additional initiatives where neededLead the initiative to audit the current knowledge base systems and provide strategic recommendations for changes and improvementsWrite concise documentation including but not limited to the following: knowledge base, Wiki, processes, best practices, communications, and presentationsAdvise various Global Security teams on communications strategies, content development, and audience needsIdentify intersection points across multiple projects and teams to maximize efforts and consolidate communication to reduce communication noiseCreate internal forms to collect information and kick-off internal tracking process for new project requests.Write and simplify processes and procedures into understandable language, workflows, and instructionsWork collaboratively with various teams and disciplines to develop documentation that satisfies its intended purpose, within schedule and budget limitationsUnderstand and apply context towards different content types, tailor content to best fit audience, and apply critical thinking to ensure that content meets standardsMaintain working knowledge of other industry-standard platformsBe available 24/7 to respond to global crises

What You Will Need to Succeed

3-5 years of experience as a Communications Specialist, Crisis Communications and/or Technical WriterProficient in MS Suites to include Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPointEditorial, copywriting, and/or analytics experience2 years of experience with CAD, HTML, and wiki a plusTableau experience a plusDirect project and process management experienceBachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications or related fieldsAbility to quickly learn and master new technologyExperience with document management and/or information architecture
