Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager designs, develops and executes marketing processes that support the Association brand, events, services and members. The position develops and implements marketing plans to grow revenue through attracting and retaining members, event sponsorships, training, usage of services and affinity programs. The position works with the Executive Director to ensure adequate market branding and market presence. The position is responsible for internal and external marketing activities including advertising, event and program promotion, publications, and the organization's website and social media presence.
Marketing and Business Development Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and executes marketing plans and goals (in alignment with Strategic Plan) for the organization as well as individual programs and projects. Maintains consistent brand image throughout services, events, and marketing materials.
  • Responsible for Membership engagement, outreach and works in collaboration with Membership Coordinator to recruit and retain member companies.
  • Prepares revenue and expense budgets for Association marketing activities (sponsorships, advertising, events).
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications including Association newsletter, public communications, website and social media.
  • Develop and maintains analytics/reporting for marketing - website, social media, advertising, marking campaigns, etc. to assess impact and ROI on activities.
  • Maintain Association website and social media accounts.
  • Coordinate Association brand activities related to marketing materials for training, HR Consulting, affinity programs (401k, Medical, Job Board), and events (flyers, ads, brochures, conference material, etc.).
  • Maintain and develop relationships with media/reporters and writes and distributes press releases.
  • Maintains knowledge of the Association's programs and services to develop leads and opportunities for Association to recruit members, deliver training, and member utilization of services.
  • Represents the Association in various settings and supports Association strategic partnerships in workforce, education, government, and economic development.
Event Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Association's Marketing and Membership Committee
  • Coordinate and plan events and networking, such as:

o Educational Events including online/in person (Wake up to Manufacturing, half-day seminars, etc.).

o Networking evening mixers

o Manufacturing Expo

o Annual Meeting Event

o Golf Outing Event

  • Grow customer relationship database from events or other resources for use in training leads, member recruitment, retention, sponsorships, communication, and other revenue generating affinity programs.
Requirements:
  • Work requires a high level of educational development equivalent to that normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • High degree of analytical ability required to develop strategies and deliver tactical support to effectively address member needs and support grant writing.
  • A high level of written & verbal competency communication skills and interpersonal skills required to represent the Association to media, external organizations, federal, state & local elected officials, and member company executives.
  • Ability to work with executives and has communication abilities to make presentations to Marketing Committee, Board of Directors and at Association events.
  • Knowledge of marketing, customer service and sales initiatives.
  • Advocate of a team concept and customer orientation culture.
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts and implement strategy to obtain objectives.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, WordPress, social media accounts, marketing design/editing software and platforms).
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including, evenings and regional travel.

Working Conditions

Work setting is primarily in an office/sedentary environment requiring occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds to set-up for trade shows and marketing events. Must possess mental and emotional agility to work in stressful environments.
