Purpose within the Organization:
The role of content creator within our creative team contributes to the success of the Outdoor Recreation program by creating various digital content including (Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, and managing social media accounts within the Outdoor Recreation Program specifically for Climbing Wall. The position exemplifies the mission and vision of the Department of Campus Recreation while creating an inviting and fun culture within all areas.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
  • Lead on the day-to-day management of our digital channels, creating inspirational, informative and engaging content.
  • Plan, produce and create of a program of digital content to be used across all our digital channels, increasing engagement with our audiences.
  • Develop creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content and keep up to date with the latest digital marketing trends.
  • Create graphics and edit photos, working with the internal design team when necessary.
  • Create awareness and interest within our audiences, driving traffic to engage with digital content.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on the performance of digital channels/activities using tools/insight information
  • Prioritize and schedule work effectively, anticipating problems and adjusting the allocation of resources and time accordingly.
  • Contribute to and work with relevant team to develop, manage and implement the digital side of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Participate in regular departmental and cross departmental progress meetings.
  • Proofread as required.
  • Remain current with our policies and procedures.
  • Attend events, committee meetings and functions as and when appropriate.
  • Make well-organized drafts by using digital publishing means
  • Design and distribute content while ensuring brand standards are met and in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Optimize content according to GCU standards and principles
  • Update the content on MyRec.GCU.edu
  • Upload the latest content on social media platforms
  • Stay up to date with latest industry trends and practices

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience of running digital marketing campaigns.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and proven experience in producing digital content and digital best practice, preferably with a membership organization
  • Strong creative skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience developing and managing social media campaigns across channels such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo
  • Experience of photography and creating/editing images, using packages such as Adobe Photoshop/Suite.
  • Experience of video production, including filming, editing
  • Understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance and the tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and students.
  • Able to deliver a range of concurrent projects, on-time and to budget.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and structure work schedules.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good proofreading skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
