Bringing together product managers, category experts, design practitioners, strategists, and technologists, we tackle key portfolio challenges to unlock new growth opportunities and create purposeful new payment and commerce experiences to power global commerce ecosystems.The Staff Designer will conceptualize, co-create, design, and present engaging experiences, effectively collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams—Product, Business Development & Strategy, Data & Analytics—to deliver value for our clients. A passion for using design to solve problems and seasoned presentation skills are a must. The candidate should have deep consultative design strategy experience and the ability to speak with fluency to product management, consulting, marketing, and analytics partners alike.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.QualificationsBasic Qualifications5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.Preferred Qualifications6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD3+ years working as a product or digital designer as part of an in-house, agency, or cross-functional design or innovation teamExperience and proven track record running client engagements, demonstrating excellence in presentation skills, and strong client-facing polishExperience in creating user experience maps, service blueprints, wireframes, polished user interface design, rapid prototyping, and presentations that communicate strategyStrong fluency in digital design software including Figma, FigJam, Sketch, and Adobe productsKnowledgeable in human-centered design thinking, service design, and user researchStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projectsPayment industry experience preferredRole responsibilities includeSupport creating and scaling experiences and engagements with a primary focus on the development of products and services for Visa’s clientsDevelop a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, commerce trends, Visa’s Agency/Innovation practice, and Visa capabilities in order to effectively communicate to clients and partnersResearch emerging areas of opportunity (using quantitative and qualitative techniques) and transform insights into compelling storytelling, experience design, and presentations for client engagements (including videos, physical installations, etc.)Lead Client Discovery Sessions in collaboration with Business and Product peers as assigned, including facilitating client ideation and alignment to drive actionable outcomesCollaborate with peers at Visa’s other Global Innovation Centers to standardize engagement models, share our practice’s approach, and train others on the how and why behind our workEstablish design sprint and collaboration frameworks, co-creation tools and asset libraries, as well as incorporating design systems, that will ultimately power the work of our practiceParticipate in the development of new business initiatives and offerings for the Agency/Innovation group in North AmericaMentor and provide guidance to junior staffSupport the Innovation & Design business as required, including but not limited to RFPs, supplier relationships, design briefs, Global Design initiatives, etc.
