Description

As the largest communities-of-practice program at Microsoft, Connected Communities engage approximately 60,000 members across Microsoft. Connected Communities fosters social learning, shared knowledge and expertise, and connection in a manner that amplifies Microsoft’s culture and values.

Position Overview

The Connected Communities vendor communications manager is responsible for leading and executing communications strategies associated with the Connected Communities to build awareness, drive adoption and productive use, and articulate the strategy and impact of the function. The vendor communications manager will also align efforts with the MCAPS Academy communications manager and other prioritized parties’ intent on leveraging the reach and audiences of the program.

Responsibilities

Define communication strategies and execute associated plans aligned with Connected Communities team priorities, demonstrating adherence to the respective voice, visual identities, brand standards, and overall Microsoft brand standards. Priorities to include, but not limited to,

Awareness and adoption campaign for the targeted Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) organization

Awareness and adoption campaign with Microsoft New Employee Orientation (NEO) and prioritized organizations beyond MCAPS

Member Journey campaigns: New Hire, Member Maturity, Recognition

Stakeholder Strategy

-

Lead the Connected Communities communication approach to include editorial calendar and communications rhythm-of-the-business, style guide, and voice.

Author accessible copy across a variety of mediums to include email, Viva Engage posts, SharePoint, newsletters, and presentations, in support of defined outcomes and objectives.

Understand different audiences and the applicability of formats for one-to-one (1:1), one-to-many (1:many), one-to-all engagements.

Tell stories in new and fresh ways that articulate thought leadership and reinforce key outcomes, e.g., in social learning, connection, shared experience.

Partner with communication and marketing contacts across the organization to align to Connected Communities strategy and direction, while empowering shared priorities and success.

Manage the Connected Communities publishing process.

Monitor, track, and analyze the impact of communications to iteratively refine strategy/plans.

Qualifications and Skills

-

4+ years experience in business, marketing, communications or related experience

-

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

-

Strong organizational skills

-

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 product family and Viva Engage
